North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination Passing Rates for 2020-2022 Graduates
The NABP recently released the NAPLEX Pass Rates for 2022 and the results overall continue their decline. While the All Graduates Pass Rate had remained fairly constant at 87% since 2017, for 2022 it's now dropped to 78%, a sizable decline! If you drop to the bottom of this report where the All Graduates From ACPE Accredited Programs are you will see the averages. Unfortunately the scores and headcounts are getting worse not better. The number of new grads taking the exam has been dropping for the last 6 years, it's a disturbing trendline but indicates what is happening in the schools and colleges of pharmacy. Applications to the schools/colleges of pharmacy and enrollment have been dropping too. 2022 Graduates taking the NAPLEX First Attempt = 12,548 is the lowest number it's been in the past 12 years. First Time Pass Rate (Dropping) = 80%. All Attempts = 14,252 (Dropping) and All Time Pass Rate = 78% (Dropping). What does the future hold for the profession? Can the schools/colleges reverse their declining trend lines?
